Hey guys! Welcome back to the blog!
Today, we are discussing gym hygeine and the appropriate etiquette therein. This one will be more self explanatory than not, but it is worth going over anyway, just to remove all doubt.
When training a close contact sport, it is imperative that we keep ourselves clean and well presented. We want to avoid the passage of bugs, germs, and infections as much as is possible. That means regular showers, washing hands after using the restroom, keeping nails trimmed and tidy, brushing our teeth/oral hygeine, and keeping our gis/training equipment clean. To put it simply, no one wants a training partner that smells bad and can scratch them, even less people want to get sick.
As such, it is our duty as participants of the sport to keep it as clean as possible for each other.
On the flip side, the gym you are training at should always keep its mats, bathrooms, change rooms, and reception areas clean. Squeaky clean.
Enjoy your training and don’t be feral!
See you on the mats!
